William E. Brown is a decorated combat veteran, experienced attorney, and devoted family man who has spent his life in service to our nation. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army JAG Corps, William provided critical legal counsel to military commanders in both Iraq and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Stars for his service in combat.
After his distinguished military career, William served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma and as Assistant General Counsel at USAA, advising the USAA Federal Savings Bank on regulatory matters. Today, he practices law in Atlanta, Georgia, focusing on business litigation, government contracting, and regulatory compliance — including emerging issues in cybersecurity, privacy, and artificial intelligence.
A proud graduate of Vanderbilt University — where he was a varsity football student-athlete — William holds advanced degrees from St. Louis University School of Law, Texas A&M University School of Law, St. Mary's University, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Texas, and Missouri.
William is married to Dr. Marilyn Brown, a pediatrician and U.S. Air Force veteran. Together, they have raised three remarkable children: William, an engineer and former professional NFL/CFL football player; Alexander, a Vanderbilt graduate, former varsity football student-athlete, and law student at Creighton University; and Ashley, a pre-med biology major and Presidential Foundation Fellow at the University of Georgia.
